In the seminar the basic knowledge of archaeological find processing is taught. This is the ideal preparation for students who wish to take part in archaeological field research and find recording projects and learn how to prepare for the publication of archaeological artefacts.The exercise includes an introduction to the study area of Acarnania (Western Greece) and to the methods of archaeological research and investigation. The main part of the practical exercise deals with the digitisation and preparation of digital research data. This includes the creation of redrawings, formatting, scaling and renaming of data. The final part of the practical exercise includes the preparatory steps for publication, such as cataloguing and identifying the finds and placing the previously produced drawings on plates. To ensure the research data life cycle, participants are also introduced to data management and the long-term archiving of research data.
